[Business] 5 Cheap Vegan Snacks For Your Office

As a vegan, I eat a lot of food.

I have to in order to survive. Because my food isn't as calorie-dense as a steak, for example, I simply have to eat more to not be hungry.

That's all good and dandy, though, because it means I get to eat tons of snacks. In fact, going vegan has completely changed how I look at snacking because everything I eat is healthy, whole, and good for you

The beauty of it too is that eating vegan doesn't have to be expensive! My snacks are (mostly) dirt-cheap.

After going to the grocery store today to re-stock my office fridge, here are 10 easy and cheap snacks that I would highly recommend keeping close at hand.

1. Apples

Anybody who knows me knows that I love apples. I genuinely believe that they are the perfect fruit. Nothing beats biting into a crisp, juicy apple.

The bonus? Apples are super inexpensive. You can buy them in bulk. And they go with a bunch of other shit. I bought a bag of 12 today for literally less than €3. So I treated myself and bought some peanut butter for an instant healthy and filling snack.

2. Carrots

Carrots are another thing that I eat like nobody's business. They're satisfying, crunchy, and pair perfectly with hummus.

The best part? I bought a 500 gram bag (I think maybe 4 cups equivalent? I'm eyeballing it TBH) for €1.

3. Granola

Granola is an easy way to get some filling carbs during the day. You can add it to yogurt, pour some dairy-free milk over it, or simply eat it by itself.

You can make your own granola for pennies, which is maybe the best way to get a Whole30-friendly version of it. When you make it yourself you won't have any gross preservatives or anything in it.

But you can also buy it for relatively cheap. Just make sure there's no honey in it. ;)

4. Nut mixes

Nuts can get a little expensive, especially if you buy the pre-packaged mixes. However, you can beat that by buying them in bulk and making your own mix yourself.

If you're in the U.S., you can go to a local Safeway to buy bulk foods. In Europe it's a little more difficult to do and you have to find a specialized store (at least in the Netherlands). You can also probably find them at various markets.

5. Crunchy Chick Peas

These you have to make at home and bring to work with you, but they are SO worth it.

The great thing abou these is that you can flavor them however you want. Make them spicy. Make them sweet. Do whatever you want.

Here's a great recipe from the Minimalist Baker to get you started.
